Ohio native Robert Hines (1912-1994) holds the distinction of being the only U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employee hired as a full-time artist. His official title was "National Wildlife Artist." Hines developed his love of nature growing up along the verdant banks of the Sandusky River in Fremont, Ohio. Despite almost no formal training, his artistic talent was recognized worldwide. Hines also was key in starting the federal Duck Stamp program and had one of his works accepted. This exhibit showcases his life and his work on the occasion of the 100^th anniversary of his birth. Sleigh Rides In Spiegel Grove Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center Spiegel

 In honor of Presidents’ Day, take a tour through

the 25-acre estate of 19th U.S. President Rutherford B. Hayes using the mode of

transportation he used - a horse-drawn sleigh. Rides are provided by South Creek Clydesdales of Fremont. After the ride, stay for the day and tour the 31-room Hayes mansion and two-story Hayes Museum & Library. The Fremont Gun Show will be at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds on Saturday, February 18 from 8:30 am until 4pm and on Sunday, February 19 from 8:30 am until 3pm.  Buy, sell and trade all types of guns and knives.  Dealers come to this show from all over the State so bring in your gun for a free appraisal.  Admission to this event is only $4 per person. Anyone interested in table space, they are available at a rate of $15.00 for one day or $20.00 for two days.
